Need to talk to 19. 5 tire users. The used Ricksons I bought came with Goodyear 225/70/19. 5s. 2 of the tires(on the front) were like new. The 2(put on the back) had about 50%.

With the miles I run, I will need to replace the rears by the end of the year. After a lot of research, I THINK I want to go with Bridgestone 245/70/19. 5 load range F.

I am 2WD 3500 SRW and I just run road treads.

Would like to know what others are running and how your experience has been with your choice.

Thanx.....

I have the Michelin XDE-MS 245/70R-19. 5" "F" rated tires. They have lasted pretty good. About 5 years of my summer towings and they are only 1/2 worn.

The 245 and "F" tire is good choice. . I have been happy with them,, With my new 09, I am considering to going back to 225 size. . going to do a "Ring Tread" from les schwab

Thanx Guys,

My '06 has 3:73s but I have the low geared G56 with the 0. 79 OD 6th gear. At 2200 rpms I was 67 mph with the stock tires. Now with the Ricksons/Goodyear 225s, I am at a true 70 mph.

I hope to pick up another 3 mph by going up to the 245s.

I am choosing, like ya'll, the load Fs hoping to get a little softer ride empty.

Why are you thinking of going back to 225s??

I have the stock size in the "E" tire for winter use and I might stay with that size when I change to a AT tire after they wear out. . On that size, the odometer is dead on. . I believe the 225 - 19. 5" tire is the same diameter as the stock size so the odometer will be accurate ... and the re-tread game is more in tune with that size (225's). . I am going to try a "Ring-Tread" from Les Schwab next year. . . It is a re-tread that is already in a ring shape... made that way... . then it is stretched over the carcass and vulcanized onto the carcass... . Should be a good cost alternative... . I don't get anywhere near the capacity of the tires so they should do ok.

I run 285 Toyo M608Z tires in the load range H flavor on my 04 2500. I've put about 5000 miles on them since I had them installed on my Vision wheels last Thanksgiving. So far, I love them. They howl a little at hwy speeds (less than my old Toyo MT's did) and they do fairly well offroad. Tread wear seems to be fine. All in all I'm a happy guy with them. They're really stiff and unloaded the ride is definitely "spirited", but hey... you're in a truck.

Here's a picture of my setup:

Speedometer... ... ... ... . with my OEM Michelins, my speedo was always 3 mph slow. Once I installed the 225/70/19. 5s the speedo went dead on with the GPS and the roadside radar units in the work zones.
