I am looking into upgrading to 19. 5's, but am struggling to justify the expense. The big benefit to me would be the longevity of the tires. Has anyone run the Hankook DH01's. How many miles did you get? How did they wear. Thanks for any info!

I am running the DHO1's in 265/70R19. 5. So far I only have about 4000 miles on them. No visible wear, although I'm sure the rears may have worn a little. The little nubs that are on all new tires are gone off the face of the tread blocks on the rear. They're still there on the steers. I expect them to run for a long, long time... .

I am running the DH01 as drivers on my dually. The fronts are AH01s. I got a swap deal on the wheels with tires. Thus far I am very pleased with the tires. Do some forum thread searching and I think you'll decide to use 225s if you are running a dually.

I have a customer running the Hankooks. He was VERY unhappy with the harsh ride at the recommended pressures. I dropped them down a bit and haven't heard back so he must be somewhat ok with them now.

What pressures were those? I'll bet he was unhappy if they got aired up to 110 psi! They'd be like riding on Fred Flintstone wheels! 70 or so in front and 60 in the rear unladen is a great plenty. Even with 3500 lbs in the bed, 80 psi is plenty. That'd be good for a rear axle wt. of 7940 lbs per Goodyears 2005 Load/Inflation information. At 90psi, they would support 8190 lbs on the rear. That'd be like 2 1/2 tons in the bed! Also, at 80 psi single on the 265/70R19. 5 size, the rear of the truck is very stable with 3500 lbs in the bed on my '06 SRW 4x4 QC LB. No side sway at all. You do need shocks that work (ie Bilsteins), as these tires in combination with steel wheels are very heavy. They wouldn't miss the wt. of a set of OEM duals by much.

Thanks PHenry,

I am not 100% sure on the mileage but I think around 20,000 miles or more. I really do not keep up with my mileage. Short memory.

Little off subject...

Who has the 19. 5s on a Megacab? Anyone? If so, posts pics, I am looking into them but want to see how they will look first! Rickson doesn't have any Megacab photos yet.

Thanks, Nick

I have 19. 5's on a F550 and the tires are less expensive, hold more weight and last longer than the tires on my 3500's... .

I've been working with a wheel supplier off shore for some 19. 5" steel wheels that are in the price range of the wheels on my F550... my trucks are work trucks... I should have the samples soon... . I own 3 of these trucks plus 3 trailers with 16" wheels but the same pattern... I intend to retire and rewheel all of them as they wear out... .

I'll let all of you know when the samples get here... . I would love to have the rickerson or alloy wheels... but as work trucks just can't afford to spend that kind of money...
