2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 19.5 wheels

See alot of these wheels and tires for sale, wondering why people arent using more of them. Thinking of buying a set of 19. 5 for my 95,5sp,4:10, would like lower RPMs on the road and have a good load ratio.

Anyone have any on the road now.



Or thinking of installing the gearvender so I still have the 4:10 when I want them and have the Lower RPM's on the road.



Looks like the price is about the same.



Any thoughts would be appreciated.

But seriously I am in the same boat you are, and tring to decide myself. But just for the sake of more info to chew on I believe that the 19. 5's for a GM HD will fit our 3500's. I will know for sure this week when I go pull my wrecked GM out of the "junk yard" it's sittin in now and actually do measurements. So what I am hoping is that they will work and then I can just spend the $$$$ on the overdrive...

The GM HD 19. 5's will not work. Not sure on the exact bolt pattern,but they will not work.



As far as I know,there are no factory production bolt on 19. 5's unless you go aftermarket.



There were some Purolator trucks that had a 19. 5" rim with the correct 8 on 6. 5 bolt pattern,but they are hard to find.

Been using my 19. 5 Ricksons with Yokohama TY303 225/70R rubber for 35,000 miles. Apart from the upfront financial hit, I cannot recommend this set-up highly enough - they look barely scrubbed in after two winters of radical European weather. I pull a heavy trailer a number of times a year. Almost all highway miles. I can tell you this, the ride is not affected as much as I thought it would be, the handling is much better, and the tires run much cooler.



I like the greater load capacity and the extra firmness in the steering, because of the reduced sidewall flex. I have about 15,000 on my first set of tires and feel it was a good decision to go to this size rim.



As for steel vs aluminum... . Thats another question. PM me know if you want my opinions on that.

The 19. 5 Alcoa's with an adapter (Dual Designs) has worked well for us. Looks good, better handling, and longer tire wear. Makes the effective gear ratio 3. 69 with Michelin 285 tires.

I wasnt talking about them working on 2500's I have a 3500 dually and by my measurements they should work have yet to attempt to put them on so I may still be proven wrong but I believe they would work for a dually

I have never seen a GM HD that has the correct bolt pattern. It is different,dually or not.
