The King is dead....

Trying to beat Doc Tinker's Poll Here

Is anyone in the process of restoring or restored any of the B-series Dodge Pick-ups from the 1950's?

This question was somewhat answered in the latest issue of the TDR magazine with the article on the 1952 B-series.

I have a 1952 3/4 ton B-3-C pick-up and a 1952 1-ton flat bed that i am in the process of restoring.

The 3/4 ton is in much better shape with only 5500 miles on the odometer. It had spent most of it's life in a barn. The 1 ton is a different story it had spent the mojority of it's life as a welding and plowing truck.

Does anyone know where any sheetmetal parts can be found for these trucks? I am specifically looking for a bed.

There is a company in Mass. that has a lot of the mechanical and interior components but no body parts.

Any information or photos of your trucks would be appreciated.

Thanks,

a local wrecking yard has a '52 half ton with the bigger chrysler six st uffed under the hood and the fluid drive and 3 speed on the floor.

It is complete, it was driven into the yard under it's own power, and the engine has been spun at least every 6 months by the yard owner since it was put in there in the 70's. Although it's rusty, it's not horribly so, and it's somewhat unusual, in that it actually has a factory radio!

I would dearly love to restify this truck... it would make a really unusual cruiser.

I have done a pretty complete re-do on my 1950 ( actually acording to Don Bun-the guy written about in the TDR its a 1949 held over and sold as a 1950), three times--once after each of my 3 kids drove it to school for a year or two.

The last time was a major restoration in 1986, and sine then it has been on the road only about 1500 miles.

I got quite a few things from Roberts Motors-= the guy in Mass.
