WOW - FORD Fires on Trucks

yep,,,,,,,,,,17. 5s. my 58 w350 that i sold a couple yrs ago had them. it had 6 hole wheels [bigpatern] so i couldnt trade to the 8 hole that later rigs had. selection of good traction tires sucked and were pricey. some motorhomes up into the 70s had 17. 5s

Dad has a 1966 w 200 with the larger tire size, Id have to look, but I remember when he bought tires he bought motorhome tires. Not sure of the size, but people always asked about them. They were factory with 8 lug Budd wheels, and looked pretty neat.

A long time ago my friends dad had a mid 60s Power Wagon with 19. 5s on it. My uncles 68 Chevy C20 had 17. 5s on it when he bought it new. It now has 16s on it due to price, availability, and most importantly a SAFETY BEAD. He had a flat tire incident high in pucker factor, after that it was on with the 16s.
