1975 Benz 300D

Hey guys, I might be coming across a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 300D (Diesel). Do any of you know where I can get info on this car? The gentlemen that has it now was driving from Kansas back to Ohio in it when it started raining, he turned on the wipers and then they stopped and the car itself just died. I think its most likely a bad ground somewhere, but I was just wondering if yall had any sources that I could check out? Thanks!

that car has a completely mechanical fuel system, the check valves in the lift pump can die and theres various air leak sources including the primer on top of the lift pump, i think it runs much the same vacuum shut off system that the 77 and up 300s run, they generally fail in the run mode, beyond that it's general diesel stuff like give it fuel and if it has compression it will run

Ok thanks, I'll have to check out the LP. I've heard that these are pretty darn good diesels.
