2000 Cummins ISC 8.3L lift pump question

Caterpillar C7 ACERT stalling question

As mentioned in the description of the truck, there is a compartment under the passenger side of the bed. But there was no mention it is a camper special option truck. I have allways thought the beds with this option had the camper special option.

That slug took about 20 secs to get to 60 mph.Never had to fix anything diesel related on them, pretty durable that way.I had 2 customers that drove them. The cargo compt under the bed had a plastic box, very few of the doors fit just right and water leaks were common

The other one I seen on ebay sold for around $1200 nowhere as nice. I haven't seen that box in the side of a dodge.

The reason I associate the lower compartment with a Camper Special, is a neighborhood friend when I was a teen, his Father owned a Dodge truck with the camper special option that had that compartment.

Ok I finally got in my "archives" and for your viewing pleasure, here are some snaps I think you'll find interesting. The MMC diesel as it was called was available in the D,W, and B (van) series. Dig the air cleaner page. I also found the side bed storage compartment.

I'am curious as to who beat who to the punch on the production of the 1/2 ton diesel, as the time period was close .. I've only witnessed a couple of the 1/2 ton dodges back then, actually drove one, and it was indeed a slug.. The chevy offering was fairly popular and a better performer, but not very reliable..
