Anyone out there in TDR land ever deal with this little cars with diesel? I have been seeing quite a few of them popping up on CL lately for very cheap price.

Thanks Don. Yeah I read up on them and it was like 20 seconds 0 to 60. That would really suck. Just something to be a beater car. Trying to sell my Camry now.

Not a Maxima Diesel, but a Camry Diesel. I saw only one in the late '80's when I worked in a busy gas station that pumped Diesel. A Nun came in with the Camry and the attendant just started pumping while the Nun went in the office for some reason. when she came out and saw what nozzle was pumping, she screamed! Jockey then realized this was no ordinary Camry.
We pushed it onto a lift, and the metal fuel tank had a drain plug. We gave her a full tank on the house.

Hahaahahahahaahahaha.......a screaming nun!!! Hahahahahahaha

Yea we were suddenly on our best behavior.

My job before that was at a Lincoln Mercury dealer. I didn't have dimes to rub but employees were offered an inside deal to buy diesel MK VII's at a loss price. IIRC they had BMW 6's in them. Never actually saw one in person. Also I did a new prep on a Diesel merc Lynx (escort) 5 speed.

This thread has me thinking of all the diesel oddities I've come across.

A member here has a '84ish Nissan Sentra diesel. It's been "in the family" for years. It's slow, but not quite as bad as one would expect, not real pretty, and hard to start when it gets in the teens, but it has been a great gas saver and conversation piece over the years.
