I have got a 1990 ctd 4x4 and it has 300,000 + miles on it and the body shows it to. I have found a real nice 1987 dodge 2wd truck that is in good shape and I am thinking of buying it and switching the body over to the 1990??? I am wanting to know if any body has done this and what all should I expect. The main thing I am conserend about is the wireing?? I have also thoufgt that I would just switch every thing out on the wireing. So help me out on some advise. Thanks Justin

If it's cheap enough, do it. It's just alot of work. You'll remove the dash, windshield and everything from each cab, unbolt everything, swap it over. Reinstall your cab wiring from the diesel cab back into the new gasser cab. 81-93 body parts are 99% the same. I'd love to find me a nice cherry 81-93 gasser truck and swap out my beat down rusty silver bullet 89.

One difference between 4x2 and 4x4 is the trans tunnel. A 4x4 or manual trans truck will have a large square-ish tunnel, and a 4x2 auto will have a low car-like hump. You can swap in a big hump, but it takes some cutting and such.

cool

Thats sounds not to bad, I am getting the truck for $350. 00 so I cant go wrong. I figured the tunnles would be different. Thats no bigggie. I was just conserned about the wireing. But if I have to change every thing over I will. Thanks Justin
