Old fuel usable?

BOMB-friendly dealers?

I have a 1988 F-250 in addition to my Ram, and I haven't driven it for about 3 months. I recently started it up, and even after it was warm, and I added a lot of fuel conditioner, it billows out tons of white smoke, and runs very rough. It ran fine before sitting for 3 months.

Any ideas?

How much conditioner did you add?

If there was water in fuel or alge then that could cause your problem.

Try checking the fuel filter then filling with good fuel. Hopefully that solves your problem. Mike

Could also be the pump. I bought an 88 F250 that had been sitting 3 mo, and it never ran right as long as I had it (6mo). The guy who bought it from me said the originals used a neoprene cam plate, and it would wear out. The new/rebuilt ones have a steel plate, and he said they do ok. Guy who rebuilt me VE also said the metering valve can stick, making all kinds of smoke.

If you are going to let it sit that long use fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank.
