dakota ctd?

What do you think? A good candidate for a cummins swap?

This may be the best GM truck i have ever seen. Wow, that frame really is wide! Hard to tell without weight on it, but what did your front caster come out to? Plenty of travel to the bump stop for the radius arm without hitting frame?

I like your track bar being behind the axle, wish i'd had room for that. Does it's angle match that of the drag link? Is that a 700 or 800 series gear box, how is it doing with all of that weight over it?

The arms on the sway bar are nice and long. How does it handle? Does the length provide more articulation? Mine is short both on the main arm and the drop links. The drop bars are angled on mine because the bar goes too far back over the axle mounts, makes the truck kick back to center harshly.

How many miles per gallon (converting) are you getting with the Cummins power? Anything you would or plan to change? Your truck is beautiful, looks like a very meticulous job you've done. Black is my favorite color. Must feel great to drive a truck you've built. Far better than anything that's ever rolled off an assembly line. Congratulations on a a real truck.

No pictures of the D-Max intercooler and it is actually comming out of the truck over the winter (I will snap some pics of it them and what all I had to do) I will be running without an intercooler this comming pulling season and will be using huge amounts of water to keep the egt's in order!

Front caster??? I am not totally sure. I welded it at what I thought was best and is around 4-5 degree's. It drives straight and true and only has gradual pull to the right like every other vehical has thats setup right.

The truck handles really well and the ride is equal to or better than my brothers 97 Dodge Cummins 4x4!

Miles per Gallon... LOL... This thing with the pump turned up like it (750cc's... stock is close to 200cc's) and the HUGE 5x18's injectors it doesn't get the best milage but what can you expect with that power. When it first went on the road I was running the stock 215HP injectors and figured it out to be 16mpg but that was not even broke in. Still isn't broken in though, only have 1200 miles on, not even and its in the shop for the winter! it won't even start now with the manual grid heaters and a nice shot of ether!!!! way to low of compression for the cold weather :--)

Oh, as far as the track bar... there was no other place to put it that worked and it turned out great and is on the exact able the drag link is on. I did do the T-style steering conversion instead of the stock Y-style that was on the axle which helped out the geometry a whole bunch.

Lets see some pics of your truck!

Oh, the clutch pedal... I used a South Bend Clutch master/slave combo and it comes with an adjustable rod for the master cylinder. Turn the rod in and out and it adjusts the pedal hight. Its a nice setup and that little conversion on its own made a world of difference... highly recomended to go that route and if anyone needs info on it just pm me!

One more question

Did you have problem with your lights and the Duramax intercooler? I have my intercooler on and I am running into a problem with my light fitting now.

Which IC do you have? yeah I had a problem but it was an easy fix once I figured it out. I took the lights apart and separated the light it self from the backets. I then took the adjusters off the brackets, and turned them around giving more clearance on the back (in order to do this I used a dremel and ground some of the plastic)(Once you look at them you will see what i am talking about) I then cut the adjuster bolts down to where they were flush with the plastic on the back. I figured that I cleared almost 1/2" doing this. Unfortuantly I don't have any pictures but if you can wait a few weeks or so I am taking the front end apart again to get the IC out of the truck!

Any other questions... ask away or send me a PM!
