1989 Geo Tracker

I have a 89 Tracker that is just about worthless but it is good to ride to deer blind when it is raining or cold although I haven't been able to get the heater very warm. Biggest shortcoming is brakes. I rebuilt the rears when I first came into possesion of this thing. Haven't checked the fronts but is very hard to stop. Anyone have any experience with one of these??? bg

The heater in my Samurai worker pretty good. I would check the squirrel cage for leaves or a mouse nest. Also the vent door may not be opening all the way.



It is very difficult to get all the air out the rear cylinders. I jack up the rear of the vehicle as high as I can, when bleed. Or pull nose down into a deep ditch and bleed.



After bleeding the brakes this way I could lock up the 35's on my sami. The sami brakes should be the same size as your sidekick. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Mine has some sort of brake control mounted in front of the rear axle on passenger side that is supposed to control the rear braking according to the load in the rear. At least I think that is what it is supposed to do. I wil do some more checking. Thanks, bg

if it has a linkage of some kind from the axle to the body its probably to balance front to rear braking, rear end lifts with weight transfer and it eases off the rear brakes to prevent lock up, a load keeps it down allowing more rear braking
