1990 250 2wd compressor removal

I am trying to get the air conditioning compressor out with the hoses attached. Its on the the passenger side down low. I know it can be done because I put it in 10 years ago with the hoses attacked and the engine in. I can not remember how i did it . I have been trying to wiggle it out the bottom . Thats not working after 1. 5 hrs of trying. The bracket is off. Did I put it in from the top? If so what do I have to take off ? Getting into the CRS age group.
