Years ago I saw a artical from TDR that referenced upgrading the cooling system to a later model cross flow radiator. My 90 model cummins with automatic will overheat in the summer towing almost anything up a hill. I want to fix it right when I fix it. Please let me know if you know where or what article this is and where I can get a hold of it at. Also maybe somebody has some better ideas. Thanks. . Ron in Fairbanks

ALso, you can take your old brackets off and put them on the "new" bigger radiator, minimizing the fabrication need to get the big one to work.

P/N for the t-stat housing is 392356. It was about $70 new from Cummins last year. Find them on ebay all the time. ANY 12valve Dodge pickup application will work.

Have you gone through all the usual preparations for towing? I towed 9000# last January (hey it WAS 72deg that dya in Houston) with the 91 tha thad the itty-bitty radiator, and it supposedly did just fine. G/F was driving, and I had the rig with the cranky transmission, so I dont know for SURE, but I trust her word.
