Something I have been tinkering with. With the install of a larger/newer turbo I wanted a cross over that would carry the added air. A pretty simple concept. I made it from the pipe I removed from my 1992 IC engine. It is 2. 5 inch pipe. I though about three inch pipe but the turbo is 2. 5 at the outlet and this fit perfect. I can use the heater grid or not. I choose not.

The new turbo is a PDR HX-35 58mm compressor and probably use a 21 or 18 cm exhaust housing. The turbo down pipe is a custom made 3. 5 inch pipe.

Hmmmm - Nice work GL, that turbo still have the v-band flange on it? Seal OK thataway?

I need to fab something like that for my 91 when I get a new turbo :D

Been looking for a Intake horn off a intercooled 1st gen, but have missed out on the last couple i found.

OH MY GOODNESS, is that what I think it is? DUST on the valve covers? This surely isn't your truck is it Scott??? :-laf

Good work once again Scott. Let us know how it turns out performance wise. I've got one of them Non IC'd trucks too.

Carolina Cummins- I had the same type set up on my nonIc 91, only MUCH less clean looking. I kept the stock crossover, trimmed an inch or so off, then slipped a second layer of silicone hose over the OEM hose, then slid the other end of the hose over the turbo outlet flange (VERY tight- thought I was going to rip it for a second). Put a clamp on each end, and all was good. Those who went to the first 2 SOPs saw it.

Hey Scott that looks real good. If you need to do another one, I have the stock tube off of my 92 if you want it, it is yours.

Greenleaf?

How do you plan on mounting up the throttle linkage braket that hooked up to the thicker grid heater? Spacers? great looking mod!! I need to do that!!

How did you repaint the engine?? Great job!!!!

I cut two spacers from 3/8 inch brass pipe. They will fill the gap due to removal of the grid heat block. The engine was painted one year ago when I removed EVERYTHING from the engine. Shot it with Dupli Color gloss engine black. I painted the accessories separate.

I just realized there is no picture of the new down pipe. :{

I have no idea what in the way of performance gains this will make. I have newer injectcors to install as well. It's more of a hobby venture than a performance venture.

Later that same day... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I found the paint can. It is Dupli-Color DE1613

Daniel, I went that way for about two weeks before I got my 3 inch crossover fabbed up. Yes it works but it is extremely restrictive.
