My 90 d250 odometer quit about15 years ago at 304,000 and I don't know how to fix it. I have a temp replacement in a speedo from a gasser but mph off by 10.What to do?

I believe they can be rebuilt (I used North Hollywood Speedometer for a 70s era part years ago). Making the gasser part correct (is it 10 mph off at any speed, 60mph, ...) might be do-able, especially if you know what it came from (gearbox, axles, tires).

If it is only the ODO, the gears can be replaced. I have a set I got off Amazon, but found a low mile cluster to use instead.

There is a new place, Mr. Heaterbox, that claims to offer VDO replacement speedo units and can rebuild entire clusters.

Well I just bought a box full of dash bezels, gauges pdl solenoids, turn signal switches and the like from a guy on offerup who lives close by. So I got a couple speedos and did the really fun gauge removal exercise put in the best looking one that is very close to my mileage and replaced 8 burned out light bulbs. Sometimes I think it would be worth the effort to pull the seat to get under dash access. After the gauge cluster swap I fired it up and all gauges and lights worked as they should and the speedo is spot on thanks to a local police buddy who verified my actual speed. Kind of unusual for a small town to have a guy living close by to have first gen parts but I'll take em when I can.
