where is the antilock brake lite or emergency /parking brake switch located , took truck to *****diesel to have injector pump (leaking) replaced the lite was not on when I took it in! new pump and valve /lifter cover was leaking so they replaced it when I picked it up the light was on but they said that it was on when they took it for a test drive?? is it a switch on the drivers side(left side)of the engine,or on the master cylinder/power brake booster? or rearend antilock? problem, they said we did not do it!! wiring diagram available? thanks doug5cents 1990 250 ram 4x4, 1995 2500 4x4 diesel 05 2500 4x4 diesel big horn ,20182500 Laramie

There is a vacuum sensor below the driver side hood hinge. It has a hose nipple that is known to be very fragile and break off. If they hooked the hose with something it could have been broken.

checked hoses, wire to brake line, and at rear axel ok, will look at vacuum at hood hinge. could it be the anti lock at the rear end , has never been replaced?

line by driver side hood hinge looks ok, will try the old start truck, spray wd40 on fittings and listen for idle change, leak check?? block off vacuum line to heater control might be leaking under dash??? stay tuned.

Doug, I had this same thing happen to me. I checked all that was mentioned and found nothing out of place. Tried several times to fix it and no success. I found it by accident working on the valve cover. The main wiring harness on the firewall had dropped down on the valve cover after coming loose from the clamp and the vibration of the engine had rubbed the insulation off a couple of wires in the harness. Check it.

Hello several things, the parking brake peddle could be down a bit, also the vacuum switch on the fender by the hinge is for the cruise control, if your anti-lock is also on (maybe bulb burnt out so it may not be on) unplug the module behind and above the glove box (anti-lock controller) usually the sensor on the rear end may be bad but most likely the wiring to it has a bad section, if you moved any of the brake lines or disconnected one or more the proportioning valve (all brake lines to into it and it has one wire coming out) could need reset (google how to do that) that valve is for if you lose a caliper or brake cylinder in the back it will move and you will still have some brakes. a vacuum will not cause that light to be on as all the vacuum for the brakes is only the booster. it is not as some have said that vacuum switch by the hinge. and finally you could just have bad brakes that the caliper piston or the cylinder in the back brakes leaked so bad as to move the proportioning valve. Good luck
