Question?
My young Friend is working on a 1992 rig as described above. He just replaced the rear main seal and is planning to keep this truck for himself.
While doing his "break dance" under the truck, manhandling the transmission/t-case, he noticed that the sensor threaded into the passenger side of the transmission was not connected. I have no experience with the automatic transmission and was wondering if anyone out there could tell us exactly what that sensor does. The truck has about 150,000 miles on it and is in really good shape. It recently came down from Alaska and was going to be used as a plow truck but developed the rear main seal leak. As always, Thanks for your Replies and time!

Could you put up a photo of it to know for sure but I didn't see any thing listed there in my manual, so it could just be a after market trans temp, or pressure sender.
