Hey guys, Looks like I have a buyer for my 2001 and will be going to go look at a 93 2wd soon, and among other things it needs tires. Are they 15" or 16" rims on a stock 93? The tire calculator I have doesn't think that these old trucks exist. Also, any ideas what size I can go up to without rubbing on the 2wd, and, still have room on the rear tires for v-bar chains? Tall and skinny is my personal preference in a tire. I have two sets of 33" vbars, and they'll cinch down to 32" with the cam locks, but I'm guessing that will still be too large of a tire for a 2wd truck?

I have a stock '91 2wd, it come with 235/85X16. I tried 245's and did not like the looks with the narrow stock rim so continue to use the 235's. With a two wheel drive you can use different size tires, however it causes an issue with the spare and rotating them.

A 235/85R16 is a 32" tire. 31. 7 by the calculator, but if you want a taller, narrow tire, try the 255/85R16. They're a full 33" (33x9. 50x16) diameter, but may rub in the front. They're very popular on the jeeps and Land Rovers, but are starting to get hard to find, and are no longer made in a highway tread..... My personal suggestion would be the 235/85R16. If you have a lot of front spring sag, they'll barely clear, are very common all over the States, and are available in a great many tread patterns and brands. I beleive it is the stock tire that came on the 1st gens. They are also available in 12 and 14 ply, if you really want to overload your ride... . :D

Thanks guys for the sizes. On my 4x4s all I have run for the past 7-8 years is Toyo M-55 in a 255/85/16, and they are 33", but I was unsure whether they'd rub on a 2wd. I like the idea of the 235/85/16, and I bet the chains will fit on them as they are. Also no longer need an aggressive tire like the M-55.
