I recently purchased a 1993 extended cab D350. At the time of purchase I thought there might be some major issues to be addressed like a transmission, rear axel, and other minior parts that would be hard to find so I bought a 1991 regular cab 350 for spare parts. Luckily all the major issues in the extended cab were not really issues at all. The leaking transmission fluid turned out to be a bad transimission oil pan gasket. The "clunk" sound in the rear end was a U joint. The broken rear fender extention was easily repaired and the windshield wiper transmission just needed new pastic bushings. Long story short I haven't needed to use the spare parts truck for spare parts. It looks like the spare parts truck could be brought back to life with just a few parts, fan and radiator. I've read on this forum people refering to a using a Ram Charger for a swap. How involved would this be. Is it just a matter swapping body parts from the Ram Charger to the pickup or will the engine and transmission from the pickup be swapped over to the Ram Charger?
I'm new to this forum and I want to thank everyone for all the information posted. I couldn't have fixed the D350 without it.

JMiller, I'm a rookie at all of this as well. I would venture to say the D350 frame is longer than the Ramcharger, so switching bodies would be very involved cut the frame and all. Is the Ramcharger on a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton set up?? I'm not sure if there are any difference in the frames?? I know putting a Cummins in a Ramcharger can be done, there is one local in my area. And this site there are plenty of people willing to lend advice.. Good luck with the project..

The easiest way is to put the cummins parts to the Ram charger and then add some some frame stiffeners to help the ram charger frame unless your able to pull the Ram charger body . Sothat you could box the frame . Although im not convienced the frames are not that much lighter on the Ram Charger frames , id like to do the same when i get my crew cab done .
