1993 Sanden SD709 Question

Hello all,I am replacing my A/C compressor with a new Sanden SD 709, I need to know the number of ounces of Ester 1000 oil required for the system,and I am recharging with an R12A replacement freon and replacing the receiver/dryer as well. . The system will be evacuated prior to the recharge. Thank You in advance Rick.

My 93 FSm says that all compressors (keep in mind this is the Dodge manual, not the NAPA parts book) come from the factory with 4. 6oz of 500 SUS viscosity wax free refirigerant oil. It says nothing about the Ester 1000 oil. Not to say that is unacceptable, but the manual says nothing. I can have my girlfriend look it up at work tomorrow.

Ester and PAG oils are for 134a only. They won`t stay in proper suspension in the refridgerant, you should use a mineral oil based a/c lube with r12 or an equivalent.
