Well just like the title says, Wil it fit?? O and hi to all in Cummins diesel land! I finally got a Diesel and am going to convert my 1998 V8 HD2500 5Speed . I'm using a 12 Valve from a 1993 W250. It got an NV4500 5 speed. Any and all help its greatly appreaciated...
the previous owner of the 93 had NV4500 installed after his Getrag failed , So I have the correct transmission, I think. but will the 93 manual locking hubs bolt-on to my dana 60 F outer C's?
you will have to use the transfer case from a newer truck because the gen ones transfer case output is on the wrong side . as far as the knuckles from a gen one fitting the newer axle i dont think it will work without some serious machine and design work. you could get a ford np205 they have the left hand drop i would just use the newer style front axle and transfer case
Thanks for the replies.. Just to Clairfy, My donor truck is a 1993 W250 With a 12v and NV4500 , NP 205. My project truck is a 1998 2500 HD with a 360 V8 gas engine. And as for smog you can keep it! I'm in the middle of BC, LOL
The it is my understanding that the Dodge hubs will not work. That's why people do the conversion with 92-97 Ford F350 parts. As stated above, the Dodge NP205 has a passenger side drop and will not work. You can find a Ford NP205, but you must make sure the spline count is correct. Fords tend to have larger spline count.
