Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 1994 12v back pressure.. whats good?

hey been awhile since i have posted or needed to post but i am looking to build an exhaust brake for my 94 12v and then maybe also for my 98. 5 24v i am wondering what a safe number is on the back pressure max so not to float and break lol i have no muffler on either truck both are running 4inch pipe to stacks... . so whats the magic number to be sure i dont go over as far as back pressure to my engine? and any tricks of the trade ideas or thoughts on building an exhaust brake is always welcome... as i am going to built one because 1000+ bucks for one is just plan stupid!#@$%!

If you have the correct valve springs you can go to 60 psi

my valve springs are the stock ones so what is the stock valve spring tension?

Stock 12 valve is 35 psi, stock 24 valve is 60 psi.
