this may need to be moved to the engine and transmission section. the 6th of march we bought a ford f800 bucket truck with a 5.9 cummins engine, i drove it back 1,700 miles from Virginia since the truck was built by the ford heavy duty division and has air brakes, the motor options are way different than you see on dodge. also the power company that bought them had a couple of changes made at the factory specific for the bucket . the oil filter is a napa 1748, i had never seen this filter before, it is a combo filter and bypass filter. coolant filter, and the air filter is a dual filter like you find on heavy equipment. notice the air compressor is mounted to run off of the cam and not belt driven. notice the second oil cooler beside the oil filter and the huge alternator

forgot to add it came from the factory without a grid heater and was two degrees below zero the first morning i started it.

That is the normal location for an air compressor on a 5.9. Then the power steering pump drives from the rear of the air compressor. Same idea as the vacuum pump / ps pump on a second ben Dodge.

There were some issues with front cover breakage on the Freightliners (and Fords I think). They added a support bracket to the air compressor to ease the load on the front cover.

Post up the ESN and I will see what ya' got there.

I am thinking that you have a "C" instead of a "B" series from the looks of that injection pump maybe.....

Also, that hose on top of the thermostat housing looks like a cluster just waiting for a chance to happen.

someone had worked on the thermostat area and had left some bolts loose, probably the same time they did the hose, now that you pointed out it is a C" maybe i can find out what was supposed to be there
