Archived 1996 Gauge install, wire hookups?

Where/how do you find the switched power and dash light wires to hook up gauges on a 1996 Ram 3500?

Key switched power is easiest found at the back of a cigarette lighter and dimmer power comes off the back of the light switch. Just uses a 12 volt test light till you find the one that dims with the switch.

How do you pull the dash apart to get to those points on a 1996 Ram?

my 2005 was pretty easy, but I have no idea on the 1996 model?

easiest way I find is to use add -a- circuit. these can be found at most auto stores and Wall marts. on my 98. 5 remove fuse #5 &#8 put in the add-a- circuits plug in the original fuses, hook up the red wires out of the add-a- circuits to switched power. your done. hope this helps.

Thanks, we figured it out, just remove the cup holder and ash tray and the rest of the dash cover pops off. Pretty easy once you figure it out

Yea there were many more screws required back then.
