Archived 1996 ignition switch

Need a new switch, not the key, the electrical part. I dont care aftermarket/ or oem my window is stuck down and the heat wont work... ...

Try a lockshop that specializes in automotive . Should be some aftermarket stuff out there.

How do you know it is your ignition switch?

Window stuck down - most common causes;

Switch worn out or dusted (READ - lot of dust/dirt inside the switch
Fuse
Motor burnt out
Window bound
Electrical short/break between switch and motor​

Heat don't work... ??? Presuming cab heat. Blower not working?
Stuck in Defrost?
No heat coming into the cab?

Sorry, you may have already done the proper diagnostics to point to the ignition, but the 2 affected items are not solely dedicated to the ignition, moreover there should be more wrong than just a window (both should be affected) that won't go up and heat don't work.

Verify your fuses in the PDC (engine compartment) and in the cab with volt meter or test light. Check for corrosion. Check your related relays (HVAC) for same.

Switch was going sometimes I had to jiggle it to get it to work. I guess last night it danced its last jig:{


Rockauto 30something bucks... trying to track my snap on guy down now the bit number in the manual doesnt come up...

Its just a standard tamper resistant torx 20 bit
