Does the presence of metric factory installed gauges indicate that the vehicle was assembled in Canada? The told me he lived in Washington state and bought the truck new in Canada. However the VIN starts with a 1 (one), which indicates US made.

Good luck with that warranty.

In all the stuff I ever ran across it was only US or MX production.

They could have easily the trucks for Canada at a local place or in US and ship direct.

Do you still have info sticker under the hood, would be neat to see your dash and the emissions sticker.

That’s the first Canadian dash I’ve seen. I would have thought the speedo would be reversed.

No, just Goerend parts.

Same here, went to all the effort of making the oil pressure and temp Metric but skipped the speedometer.....strange....
IIRC only the odometer/speedometer assembly had to be changed by a certified organization verifying the true mileage converted from metric for imported vehicles. The speedometer in the older instrument clusters was a separate mechanical unit and could be changed out independently. The later digital odometers had the info stored elsewhere and had to be programmed as well as a complete changeout of the instrument cluster due to the integration of the circuitry.

That would explain it, just changed the speedo to MPH when it was brought back into the USA for sale.

The original owner bought it from lived in Washington and went across to Canada to make the purchase. He owned it until 2011 when traded in here in Tucson, where I obtained ( only 107K mi.) it. His name and local contact info was on a piece of paper in the owner's manual, so made contact soon after and he provided receipts/ other docs too for the mods made during his ownership.
