1996 Rear axle sway bar install dimensions

Hello folks, I pulled a factory rear axle sway bar from a salvage yard truck, hoping to install it on my 96 long bed. I was told by the dealer in 96 when i ordered the truck that I could not get that option. He may have been wrong, but in any event, I want to add it.


I lost the dimensions i measured for the upper control arm mounts (to the frame).

Does anyone know where I may find the frame hole location dims?
I do want to be as close as i can to the correct position/location.

From the top center of the axle housing to the forward bolt is about 12 1/2 inches on mine. I'm assuming the axle housing you have has the mounting brackets installed. You should be able to mount those brackets and see where the arms reach to. The smaller arms are almost vertical.

All I found was a Hellwig 7626 was for same application.

Maybe you can review their install instructions and compare to parts you have.

I was looking on the wrong area of the frame! The drawing set me straight and Im good to go thanks to you! I sure appreciate it.

What really questions me is since the factory holes are already in the frame, I wonder why the salesman said I could not order the swaybar option.???
