2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 1997 24v?

While looking at this truck for sale I saw a engine pic of a 24v motor.

The truck looks like a 97 inside, what do you guys think?

All the pictures are a 97 except the one on the engine. That one is definitely a 24 valve. Somebody messed up there.

The engine pic appears to be from this 1998 24v 2500:

You can see the same sticker on the drivers' side bottom of the windshield.



It's probably just that the 2500 had a cleaner engine compartment or something.

The vin indicates that the truck was a cab and chassis. The engine code, (eighth digit) should be 6 if it was 24 valve. I think as above that the engine shot is from the 98 2500. bg

If you scroll down to the very bottom you'll see that the seller added another engine picture - of a 12v motor. If it's a 97 it has to be a 12.

Wonder if that's a re-paint - that tan/camel interior looks sorta odd in a silver/black exterior...

Anyone else think that the $16,000 buy it now price is a bit high for a truck with 172,000(sure it does look clean but... . ). Besides the sticker shows it is a 96 not a 97.

I agree that it looks fishy. This was probably a hot shot truck. The sticker shows date of mfg. , not year model, mine was put together in Sept. 98 but it is a 99 year model. bg
