1997 3500 12 valve.

Hydra-boost is leaking power steering fluid where it mates to the master cylinder.

Dodge dealer says hydra-boost unit is a discontinued part.

Anyone been through this before ?

Anyone know of a fix or rebuild kit ?

Dodge might have discontinued the Hydra-boost. But you can still get them from parts stores. Are you sure it's power steering fluid and not brake fluid. I think you would have a lot bigger leak if its the Hydra-boost and the back seal is known to leak on the master cylinder.

It is leaking power steering fluid. The master cylinder is always full but I need to top off the power steering fluid every few months.

I guess I will start off with trying NAPA & see if they have a replacement.

Pretty straightforward. Just make sure the new/reman'd unit is the same as yours. And be sure you read the instructions that come with the new booster. You have to make sure your master cylinder is correctly adjusted when installing.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago on my '97, bought a replacement unit from RockAuto. It wasn't a terribly difficult job, worst part was just accessing the mounting studs underneath the dash. Perfect job for a contortionist.
