I have a 1997 club cab with Dana Spicer 80 rear differential and have found a 2002 spicer 80 with the 3. 54 ratio which matches the one in my 97. The benefit is the 2002 has disk brakes which I would like to perform a swap.

Hoping someone has experience and knows what my procedure would be are the two differentials similiar enough that the disk brakes would bolt on to my original differential or would I have to change the differential completely? What other changes are necessary will my master cylinder perform with the disk brakes. Any pointers and tips would be greatly appreciated. Or if there is a resource out there that has this information please let me know.

Thank you

I would think that swapping the entire assy would be easier than trying to install the disc brakes to your drum brake axle. I believe that you will also need to install the proportioning valve on the master cylinder that disc brakes require.
