is the 1998½ a 24v?

Well the title pretty well covers my question. Buyn' parts and want to be sure they will fit the truck.

Yes, 1998 model year switched to 24V about 1/2 way through the production year. I believe it's the same 24V as used up to through the 2002 model year.

Correct, the 24 valve in that truck is the same as all the 24 valves up to 2002. Well, the same with exception to minor differences in electronics component location, and the HO engine.

Otherwise, in general, a 24 valve is a 24 valve 1998. 5-2002

I think the 98. 5/24valve used the square port, old style exhaust manifold? They maybe change to the round port/pulse type in '99'?

Plug-in connectors for the MAP sensor and perhaps the CANbus data port vary among the model years as well - in case you were looking at a "box".
