I have a 98 12 valve. I dont have factory fog lights and want to put them in. Was this option even available? I was told that there is a "kit" that comes with fog lights, wires, relays and factory switch, etc. does anyone know if this kit is out there? Also where does the factory fog lamp switch go? I know that my light switch is like the 97 and newer second gen 12 valves and the second gen 24 valve factory headlamp/foglamp switch is different. TIA

There are two switch options for our trucks, with or without fog lights. I believe the harness is already there. It would make sense to me (BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE) that you could install the correct switch and install the fog lights and you will be off to the races. There may also be a relay to install in the fuse panel under the hood.

Do you know what the light switch looks like with the fog lights?

I was incorrect that there was a specific headlight w/ fog switch in 98. A little research revealed that the 98s were a transition year. Rockauto has the switches for $23.99. It is a small square switch that mounts somewhere in the dash. Maybe the emptyauxiliary power port. I don't know were it would attach to the harness. Rockauto also shows a fog light relay.

i was under that is the switch for the 97 and earlier second gens that goes up by the cup holder/od switch??

On mine it's part of passenger airbag on/off switch. Mine did not come with fog lights so I got the switch from on that did. All the wiring is in place and by adding 2 relays in the underhood power dist. box,I found the harness with factory plug under the front of the truck on the radiator core support/frame. Don't forget(like I did) that that the harness will only power up with the head light switch pulled out to the parking lights or headlights on. I found the switch harness behind the center dash cup holder or dash pocket depending on a stick or auto transmission. I've seen the switch on ebay for a 97 truck
