Hi, I just picked my son up a 1998 2500 24 V Cummins, It has a level it appears ( and was told ) but it sits high about 1' over the rear. I am not looking to really keep raising the truck just want it leveled.

Add A Leaf? If so which do you recommend and any how to links?
1' Block added if so any links?
Do I replace the stock Block? if so what do I replace it with?
Air Bags?
Truck will pull different trailers from time to time and carry quads/Snowmobiles around.

Thank you and yes I have searched a ton.

I recommend you pull the level kit off. If you are going to tow you don't want to go any higher on the rear. You start to run into bed/tailgate clearance issues with a gooseneck. If you start with a level truck, now the rear will sag with a load. For towing, the built in rake front to back is best.

Yeah I figured the Springs are getting weak in the rear, I thought about pulling the level off but the truck isn't going to tow all that often. I was thinking about a set of Air Bags for the rear, Would they be okay to raise rear a 1/2 for daily driving and then inflate more for towing?

Bags will work, and pulling the level kit wouldn't hurt. If you change springs, it'll likely ride stiffer with new ones... for sure different, I put new springs in my 70' Z-28 and wish I had not... it raised the ride height (likely back to stock..) and made it much stiffer, the old ones were what I was used to and wish I still had.

Yes but I would not mind having some help in the rear with hauling, which I think bags would provide so maybe that is the way to go, Or new leaf packs.

Seems you’ve already made up your mind. Your money, do what you want. I’d say from your other post, you have more important things to spend money on.

Yes I made this post before I knew about Trans. I am open to ideas, I am not against removing Level in the front . But I am assuming the rear springs are probably getting worn as well. Front springs are new.

So I was able to locate the owner who did the work to the truck, He said he used Thuren 2.5 inch springs on the truck and had them powder coated to color match the truck. I did measure and the truck actually appears to measure level, I don't think it actually is nose high but it sure does look it. I'll probably go with air bags any way for towing purposes.
