2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 1998 Cummins price??

I was driving past the dodge dealer down here in Temple Texas today and noticed an immaculate 1998 3/4 cummins SLT ext cab 2wd 5 speed 82K. Are there anythings I should look closely at on this truck?? I've got them down to 14,000 does this seem like a good price?? I looked for about 6 months for a clean 24 valve to work out of then broke down and bought a 03, but I hate seeing rocks fly off the mower at my brand new truck! Thanks for the help.

Is the truck a 98 12 v or a 98. 5 24v that has injection pump problems. Eric

Do a search for the VP44 injection pump for more information than you wanted to know about problems.



For what it's worth, my 2000 truck hasn't had any problems with its pump. Neither have most of the other 24 valves. That pump seems to be a bit more troublesome than the older in-line mechanical pumps, so it suffers by comparison.



About the price: It sounds very good to me, especially for an immaculate truck. I wouldn't sell you my 1995 truck with about the same mileage for that price, but I admit that I like my 12-valve almost as much as I like my 24 valve.
