1999 12 Valve?

[DRR-24V]

A buddy has a 1999 3500 Ram that has the 12V engine. Can this be a screwup? I thought all the 99 Models were 24 V. The CA. reg shows 1999 Model.

I have a friend in Colorado that says he has a 99 one ton 12 valve, But I won't believe it until I get there and see it for my self. I'll be there in 2 or 3 weeks and post what I see.

I don't know how they possibly could even if these guys claim it came that way from the factory. The wire harnesses and powertrain computers won't even match up. Also the liability of the EPA coming down on DC for putting an older emissions motor in a newer certified emissions vehicle.
Email me the VIN numbers and I'll tell you everything they were built with.

Sorry for the bad info Guy's. He purchased it in 99 but I looked at his CA. Reg Card myself and it is a 1998 year model. 1 Ton Dually. Thanks for the input. Don
