1999 3500 no overdrive

Just bought a 1999 3500 has only 3 gears no overdrive . Cycled the key no codes come up and not even p done . Any ideas ?

No . But the switch doesn’t feel right . When I first turn the key the od off light comes on but when running it’s off

Start small, how's the fluid level and condition from what you can tell, is a stock 99 still checked in "N", it should say on the stick possibly.

Ok . I figured it out called the guy I got it from and he said well I pulled a relay out of the spare hole and put it in the ac hole I wonder if the lid is labeled wrong well it must a Been swapped it and not it works . Now I have no od lockout going to test the switch it feels bad .

Should be able to check with an ohmmeter, should make contact of zero ohms in one direction and open in the other. Pretty easy for that one. Look at the actuator, I believe it's under the drivers side battery where acid and other things can not do it any good.

You lost me on this one, David. Are you talking about the Cruise Control Actuator?
