Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 1999 and 2001 steering gearboxes

Are they the same. Napa has one for a 99' but im leary on picking it up cause im not sure if its the same. I need one fast and quick cause im leaving state in less than 2 weeks. This truck is a death trap as it is now pulling my 27' swaying bioottcch of a trailer. I just want to ditch in to a tree and walk away from it. Im so fed up with steering bull ****!!! :{
