I have a 1995 4x4 with the stock chrome wheel. (6. 5" CRAZY) I can get a set of 1999's or 2001 alum. stock at a great price to put on. I want 8 inch wheels. Are 1999's 8 inch? I know the 2001's are 8". But will the 2001 wheels fit on my 1995?

Thanks for the help!!!!

I have 2001 4X4 with aium. wheels and a1994 with steel wheels. I tried to switch them the other day . Steel wheels fit on the 2001 but the alum. wheels wouldn't fit on the 1994. Alum. wheels fit on the front but wouldn't fit over the drums on the rear.

You need to grind the rear drums down and the few guys that have commented about fitting them up say you need to grind a little on the front too.

It seem like aftermarket wheel are a better way to go. Plus Dodge doesn't have too good a reputation for the quaity of their factory wheels, steel or aluminum.

Watch out

I purchased a set of 2001 rims to fit my 1998 dodge ram 2500 TD. When they were mounted, the inside of the rim scraped on the front disk calipers. After investigating the problem, Dodge made the rims unusable for earlier edition Rams by adding a small aluminum ridge on the inside of the rims. This ridge is tall enough to obstruct the user from putting the rims on the truck. I paid about $280. 00 for the set and recently sold the set for $250. 00. If you look around, there are a lot of really good rims available, Chrome alloys or just alloys for reasonable costs. I purchased a nice set of Chrome alloys from a local tire shop for $150. 00 per rim. I had my 28575R16's mounted and balanced, and they provide a very smooth ride and the truck looks awesome!

Good luck:D

I sold the 98 and purchased an '02 just before the year ended for tax purposes. I believe the '98 Dodge Ram is better built after three years use and 106,000 miles than the new Mexican built Dodge trucks.
