I know it's not a Dodge, but... .

Replaced the intake gasket on the wife's suburban and screwed up not marking the distributor well when I pulled it...

My question is when I find top dead center, where do I place the distributor? Will it only go in one way? The rotor does not indicate #1... .

Thanks in advance! I really need to wrap this up this afternoon.

After you find top dead center number one should be the closest one to you on your right hand side looking from the front. Turn the rotor untill it point approximatly 42 degrees counterclockwise from the number one spot in the cap. make sure the oil pump drive gear is aligned with the tab on the distributer shaft.

once you find TDC place all your wire on there respective plugs and cap where they belong, then drop the distributor in so it points to the number one plug wire. if it wont drop all the way in look down the hole and adjust the oil pump drive so the shaft aligns with the slot in the bottom of the distributor you can use a big screw driver to turn the oil pump drive... .
