1st Gen Bomb Day is a GO......

Ok guys, I have a commitment from Piers at PDR to do a 1st Gen Bomb/BS day in January.

Any and all are welcome to attend. Bring your parts, questions, stories and what have you...

It will HAVE to be either Jan 11th or 12th. That's a Saturday or Sunday.

Piers will open the shop up, help out, shoot the breeze, talk shop, generally make us feel at home... no charge for the hospitality or the heat and lights.

This is an opportunity to get some help/insight from one of the only guys doing 1st Gen R&D.

He does not yet have, but is trying to get, a jig to do 1st Gen KDP's as well.

All we need to do is decide which day it is going to be and let him/Louise know a firm date and he'll be there.

Ok, who's in and what day looks best for you guys?????

Oh, I had a chance to meet hdm48 (Dave) and BCaldwell in person... . he's actually taller in person you know... ;)

Bob.

Hey Bob, I'm in for sure, and i'm keeping that whole weekend open, so either day is fine with me. I'm hoping it stays dry that weekend, maybe we can put on a little smoke show, fog out the freeway ;).

Will this event be taking place at the shop he is in now or will the new shop be open by then?

Hi Ken, you ole horse... how the heck are ya... ?

This should be taking place in Piers' current shop. I think he moves to his new one in Feb. some time.

I hope we have a good turn out of 1st Genners, since Piers is donating one of his few days off for us. .

See you there... .

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY.....

Hey Bob, doin' pretty good for an old feller!

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you:)

Either day is good for me. I just asked the wife and she said"don't you guys ever get tired of hugging your trucks?"

Of course I replied with my normal whit and charm, "nope"

See ya there

--Dave--

Ok guys, it's looking like Saturday, the 11th of January will be the Bomb Day. That will allow for folks to get home and still be able to sleep in on Sunday... . or stay up here (for the US guys) if they want, and still get home on Sunday if they choose to.

I'll chat with Piers and see what time he'd like to open up in the morning.

I'll advise pretty quick on that, stay tuned...

Bob.

Bomb Day Eh!

Bob

Saturday, Jan. 11, 03 sounds great to me!:D I will be there, but what time should this gig get underway? I'll have to ask the home boss for tome off. ;) Got to see Marks truck too!! Speed kill"s ya know. :D

Rick... ... .

I sent an email to Piers/Louise yesterday and I will likely talk to them in the next day or three... I'll advise on time ASAP.

I'd only be guessing if I put a time on it now, and I'd rather have a firm time to pass along. .

Bob.

Ok guys/gals, I spoke to Piers today and he has confirmed a time of 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 11th at his shop in Surrey/Langley.

Pass the word down the line in case some don't check in on this thread, and remember while this was set up as a 1st gen bomb day, ALL are welcome to attend and have a few... ..... ahhhh... laughs at the expense of us old timers... ya, that's it...

Nascar Mark (aka Wildman) will be there along with other notables...

Throw some of you favourite beverages in the truck, bring your tools, your parts, or your wallet and enjoy...

Let's make a good showing since Piers is giving up one of his extremely rare days off to do this ... ... . :):)

Bob.

Bob, I will be there for sure. My son Levi may come up with his truck too. Could you remember to bring your manual? It sounds to me like it has a lot of info that mine doesn't.

Also, I was thinking of bringing my porting stuff. If you still want to bomb your manifold and housing, try to get it off as soon as you can so we can get it done early.

Let me know if I should bring it, OK?

-dave-

Dave,

Thanks for that great offer. I'll bring my NWG 14cm and probably do that, as well, I may pull the exhaust manifold and replace the gasket, open up the manifold bolt holes and relieve (I assume you can) the manifold if we've time.

Thanks again,,,, that's the spirit. .

Pass the word on will you...

Please advise that any who may attend to notify me by PM or email so I can let Piers/Louise know a rough count, that way they'll be ready. .

bob.

Sound's like this should be a great day. I will be there for sure. Now if I want to turn up my pump, set the timing and adjust the valves, all I would really need to buy is a 16cm housing. How much are they worth? Can I do this with out the pyro & boost gauge's?

It's just after Xmas and the funds are not there right now

Rick... .....
