You may have totally adequate fab equipment to accomplish all the job but I think you will want to have the engine mounts from a second gen diesel truck to make the engine set correctly. If the frame of your truck is like everything else Dodge, the factory mounts will 'make' the job. The bolt holes on the side of the block are the same 89 up inclusive.
If you have the rear cross member, that will give you a start on nailing down the back end at the rear of the transmission. Strickly guessing but the 96 crossmember will surely have to move fore or aft to fit correctly but it may have the right holes to bolt in the transmission mount from the 89. May be that drilling a few holes in the frame will be all you have to do there.
It won't take to awfull much the hook up the rest of the things and the 89 doesn't require a heck of a lot to make it run.
The rear ratio should be as low as you can get to have the engine in its torque range. What was the v10 setup running? You will want to find a gear vendors overdrive to slow the motor at cruising speed. .
But all in all, the project is certainly do-able. It will no doubt keep you out of devilment for a few days.
