1st Gen Engine / transmission Q's

My brother has access to a stock 93 Cummins engine with the stock automatic. What, if any, are the "red flags" with this setup? How can it be easily modified for more HP? Is it a reliable setup (engine/transmission/injector pump, etc)?



My brother is thinking of putting this into his 1 ton International pickup or maybe his Scout II. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated...
