Are the 3/4 ton and 1 ton frames the same on a first gen? The two trucks I am talking about are both ctds, one a 93 3/4 and the other a 90 1 ton.

As far as I know they didn't change anything on the frame between the two year models. The thing I would check is the thickness of the frames. The one ton might have a thicker set of frame rails on it.

Thanks Philip,

That is what I was trying to figure out. if the metal dimensions and thickness were the same. If I were to take a piece of framerail out of the 93 (since it is bent anyway) and splice it into the 90, would it work? Guess I'll have to mic them and find out, I just thought someone like Kyle, who's cut and welded frames, would already know.

Thanks again,

Jim

frame size

Hi Jim some of the early cummins trucks have different frames they are not as tall as the newer ones It depends on where you want to fix the frame I belive they are all the same in the front part where the motor sits I hope this helps

Thanks Cummins2go. I was curious about the area that makes the difference between a regular cab and an extended cab.

Hi Jim I tried to post pictures but no luck give me an email at -- email address removed -- the 91 is 6" height 93 is 8" height

are both the frames in the picts 1 tons or are they both 3/4 tons or is on a 3/4 and the other a 1 ton? did Dodge change to a taller frame for the 3/4 and 1 tons? and when?

Both truck frames are W250 4x4 with cummins automatics the 6" tall frame is a early 1991 the 8" tall frame is a 1993 I also have a 1992 W350 4x4 with cummins automatic and it has the same frame as the 1993 W250 I think dodge went with the 8" frame in late 1991 models. Some 1991 models have 6" some have 8". 1 ton and 3/4 ton are the same
