how much fuel pressure should I see ... . stock configuration?

5-7psi is spec. 3psi minimum under load pressure. Westach makes a nice 0-16psi electric FPG. If you ever plan to go to the low pressure piston lift pump, then I'd get Westach's 0-30psi electric FPG. Chances are you'll see 3psi idle, 0psi light throttle to wot.

When I spoke with the company that makes them, he said the spring regulates the psi. It's not adjustable, rather it is replaced to adjust the pressure. The pump operates all the time the key is on. I don't like that. There is nothing to tell the pump to start / stop other than you turning the key on or installing a switch of sorts. It operates at one speed... ... Wide open. You don't need 50 GMP at slow idle but may at WOT. Get my drift?... ... ... the VE-44 don't have no regulator. A simple orfice hole serves to keep the prssure in the pump.

Maybe you need to speek w/one of the 24 valve guys to find out all the 411 on them things... ... .

If I ran a FASS system , would that be too much pressure for the pump? (15lb )

If you can keep it in the 10 to 15 lb range you should be Ok. Up to a point the VE bypasses extra fuel for cooling and lube but too much pressure will start the seals leaking and possibbly cause other problems. If you have some weak or old seals you will probably find them. You can buy an add on regulator to adjust the pressure after the FASS. The FASS does have a regulator but Scott is right it is not adjustable but uses different weight springs. Unless you are going for some big power Bill-n-Scott's "sexy" piston pump will provide quite a bit of fuel.

Currently, using my boost gauge as a temporary fuel pressure gauge, I see 8psi at idle, and it sucks down to 5-6psi at 24psi boost. It is a new Airtex (never hears of 'em, but it has a lifetime warranty from O'Reilley) unit. Old one was 7psi idle and dropped to 0 at 1/2 throttle in 2nd gear.
