Who Sells Rancho Shocks?

My 93 is coming out of the garage that it has been stored in for many months, is there anything out of the ordinary that should be done prior to start-up. Wish there was a way to pre-lube the mighty cummins. I'm sure many of you have been through this before, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the electrical leads off the fuel shut down relay. This will allow the motor to be turned over without starting. Not the best but will get some oil circulating before you let her fire off.

Hope the oil was changed before you put the truck in the barn. If not, I'd change it now.

Thanks Stan, That sounds like a good plan, anything besides a complete dry start. I will figure out how to disconnect that when I fly up to retrieve the truck next month. Your right about the oil as well, I'll change that too, I was not planning on all the down time on it, so I am in need of an oil change too. Thanks again for the input. Joey G

Its a small round brass device on the rear end of the pump. It's about 1" in diameter. Is sota tucked in behind the throttle linkage. Has two wires going to it. Just take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the connectors off the top end and the truck won't start.

manual fuel cutoff switch....

Hey jgordon!:)

If you have a friend to assist you in the start up... Just have them hold down the Manual Fuel Cutoff Lever on the VE44 injector pump. This will keep the engine from starting until released & basically do the same as disconnecting the wire leads.

Just a another approach... .

KEENO:D

Jeez Keeno, I'm so used to working on my truck by myself that I didn't think of the obvious! THAT would be a little easier:eek:

Even if by yourself, it would be easy to take a piece of wire and tie the lever back.

Thanks Keeno, I will round another person and give that a try, I appreciate the input Stan & Keeno, its great to get such a rapid responce with such usefull information. I recently joined, and can't believe I waited this long to sign up. Just signed both of my brothers yesterday for early X-MAS, it will probably be the most used of anything. Enjoy the Holidays. Joey G.
