WHAT THE MAIXPAD BOY'S THINK ABOUT OUR CUMMINS

It Gets 78 Miles a Gallon, but U.S. Snubs Diesel

I just got back from a 1250 mile trip to Emmett, ID for an O'Mok See. This was the first good haul since installing my upgrades, and thought it would be fun to let you all know how it went.

I put the truck and tailer on the scales just before leaving Thursday, and it weighed 19,500 lbs. I pulled (3) 6% grades on the way down, and was able to pull all but one in OD at 60-65 mph. Impressive, last time I made this trip, I was lighter, and couldn't pull the 4% grades in OD. The one hill I didn't make was Meachum, going East out of Pendleton, and it was slowing for the curves that slowed me down. EGT's stayed below 1250 the whole trip, and I never had to lift the trottle to keep it there.

I've only estimated MPG, but it looks to be about 12. 5 for the whole trip. If any of you guys have a 12v, and haven't put in a plate and gauges yet, do it! It's like a whole new truck. Besides, the look on the Ford guys faces as you run by doing 65 on a 5-6% grade is worth the $600 bucks easy.

Good ole cabbage hill will slow ya down everytime unless your crazy. Glad to hear your happy with the extra power.

I just got back from Poteau, OK and I was towing my Landcruiser with 920 lbs of landscaping rocks. I figure I was towing about 8,000 lbs behind my Cummins. Anyways, caught up to a two aluminum horse trailers being pulled by a Duramaxipad and a Powerjoke. Both of these trucks were very close together since I was passing on the right going uphill and there was a small car in front of me. I was pulling hard at 85 mph and I blew right by them. It was very funny to see the Duramaxipad driver follow so close to the powerjoke to not leave a gap like they were going to sift me. I'm glad I got my Cummins... :)
