Finally decided that I need to join!
I inherited a 93 dually Cab & Chassis in 1997. The time has come to restore it. I intend to convert it to a dually pickup. Here is what I have:
1993 D350 5 speed LE - 259,000 miles
159" wheelbase Cab & Chassis
Stage 3 Banks kit
Rebuilt front end
Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt 3. 54 open rear
New brakes all around
One almost brand new '92 dually bed & tailgate from Rust Free in Iowa.
The first hurdle I need to get over is pushing the rear wheels out! I have located a couple of suppliers for the adapters but am unsure how much space I need. Any suggestions?
The second thing I need help on is what to do with the extra 18" between the cab and bed. So far, I've got two options, cut the frame down or have a custom crossframe tool box/transfer tank made for it. Any other ideas are welcome.
Lastly, I think I need a new pump. Occassionally, I get some seepage of fuel from where the throttle arm comes out of the pump when it's cold. Other than that, it seems fine - but how would I really know?
Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks in advance,
Mike O.
