Okay, I have pulled many many times in the past but my brother just got a new truck and has asked if I will pull it this weekend for him at the local diesel pull.
Here are the spec's of the truck
1997 Reg-cab long box 2500
215hp - 5speed
4:10 gears
285's almost down to the wear bars (not much traction with them)
plate slid half way forward
stock clutch.
Anyway, I have pulled a few manuals and auto's in stock form in 2nd low with 3:55 gears.
I am wondering what 3rd might do but am worried about burning up the clutch... we are putting in a dual disk over the winter and don't have the time to put in a temp for now.
So guys what are your idea's?? 2nd gear, start of idle then once clutch is locked up get into it or try 3rd and hopefully it will slip then lock... . I don't think I could move the sled of idle.
