Competition Waterford, CA Sled Pull June 2nd

Off Roading Beadlocks.

Last weekend I took my truck out drag racing for the first time at the local 330' track (Only track around for a couple hundred miles). I was relatively surprised at the times! I had a best run of 5. 88 @ 54. 87 MPH. This was faster than any of the other vehicles running street tires except for an 1100cc motorcycle, and a supercharged mustang on drag radials. My best 60ft time was 1. 70. The printer on the time machine was out of ink so I only got the first 15 runs recorded. I ran 28 runs back to back with the DTT trans getting up to 180 by the last 2 runs. I was holding 20 psi of boost for up to 5 or 6 seconds a couple times, I am really happy the way the DTT performed at the track. My truck looks totally stock with everything hidden away except for the AFe intake and stacks. Guys were looking under the hood and shaking their heads when they didn't see shiny pieces or evidence of being modified.

I do seem to have a mis with the comp on 5x5 that was getting worse as the night went on, I am not sure exactly what is causing this problem yet. However; after playing with the sublevels on my comp box, the truck has been doing weird things like cutting out every now and again, and stumbling sometimes, like when the timing is off on a gas engine. I am starting to wonder if my ECM is needing to be reset or something. Other than that, I had a great time and can't wait to do it again, hopefully with the twins on next outing!!

I don't have a clue what the quarter mile time would be with the comp box turned on 5x5. As it is right now the EGT's are getting high by the 300' mark! Most of the cars I was beating had nearly 10MPH more than me by the end of the track, so I am guessing the good results were due to the 4WD launches, most of the other cars would sit there a squeal the tires for 50 feet or so. My best time in the quarter with the G-tech pro was 14. 59 with the comp box set to 3X3 (the highest setting that egt's will allow). The 60 ft time was actually 1. 72 to be exact and it felt like way stronger than the other launches I did. I let go of the brakes just when the turbo started spooling and spun all four tires for a split second. All the other launches I had 15 to 20 psi of boost and it seemed to hesitate slightly compared to my best launch. My average 60 foot time was 1. 78.
